I received a call from a private number purporting to be from the “American Lottery Centre.” The caller insisted I'd won a hefty sum of £150,000 in their lottery, which I was rather perplexed by, as I’d never entered. He claimed it was a reward for those who had participated in their previous draws, which he said encompassed nearly all the lotteries throughout the UK. When he probed for personal information, I mistakenly provided him with some incorrect details. He then presented me with two rather intriguing options to claim my supposed prize: the first being a trip to the US where they'd cover all costs, or secondly, enlisting the services of some solicitors based in Manchester to facilitate the process. The contact number he gave was 01618187774. I have a sneaking suspicion that I’ll be hit with some sort of upfront fee.
