On the 16th of December, I received a rather alarming phone call from this number, purporting to be from BT. The caller insisted that my computer had been compromised and that engineers were apparently working nearby. While the name they provided sounded quite quintessentially British, their accent was unmistakably foreign-possibly Indian. They urged me to power up my computer, but I firmly refused, stating that I would verify their claims with BT directly. Afterward, they provided me with a number to call back, but I opted against it and reached out to BT using the number associated with my account. Lo and behold, it turned out to be a complete scam! I urge everyone to stay vigilant, as these individuals were incredibly persuasive, apart from the obvious mismatch of name and accent!

They informed me that there was some dodgy activity occurring with my BT broadband account from offshore, which really got me worried. They asked me to input a code online to sort it out. Though they sounded quite persuasive, I decided to double-check with BT directly, and thankfully, they confirmed it was a scam. Just a heads-up to everyone, stay vigilant!

Received a call from someone posing as BT Internet Services, claiming they could help with dodgy users hogging my broadband. The callers had thick Indian accents. I requested they send me a proper letter on BT letterhead detailing their concerns and what steps they intended to take. To my surprise, they flatly refused and tried to press me for information instead. I hung up promptly. Afterward, I investigated the number they called from, and lo and behold, it's not affiliated with BT at all. It's undoubtedly a scam!
