somebody rang me pretending to be from bt telling me my broadband had some issues. i asked for their number and told them i'd ring back later. well, obviously no call is going to happen from my side.

I’ve never felt so sick in my life. I recently lost my job and while I was still speaking to them on the phone, I noticed money missing from my account. They kept me talking, claiming they’d fix the mistake and refund it, but really they were just making sure the payment went through. I even told them about my redundancy and how upset I was about the money, but they showed no sympathy at all. They had locked me out of my computer and I’m trying to set up my own business, so I was totally stuck and desperate. Now I just feel stupid for falling for it and I’m absolutely heartbroken.

What a cruel scam this was. I’ve just lost my job and when I found out money was missing from my account, I was still talking to them on the phone. They kept me distracted, promising to fix the mistake and return the funds, but all the while making sure the payment went through. I even told them I was unemployed and sobbing over losing that cash, but they showed no sympathy at all. They had somehow locked me out of my own computer, and because I’m trying to set up my own business, I was in total panic. I feel so stupid for falling for this - it’s left me completely heartbroken. Had a call from someone saying they were with Microsoft tech support, but it was definitely a scam.

Someone phoned claiming to be from Microsoft, which is total nonsense. I told the folks here to let them know we don't have any computers on site. (I'm actually working at our main office)
