somebody rang me pretending to be from bt telling me my broadband had some issues. i asked for their number and told them i'd ring back later. well, obviously no call is going to happen from my side.

I’ve never felt so sick in my life. I recently lost my job and while I was still speaking to them on the phone, I noticed money missing from my account. They kept me talking, claiming they’d fix the mistake and refund it, but really they were just making sure the payment went through. I even told them about my redundancy and how upset I was about the money, but they showed no sympathy at all. They had locked me out of my computer and I’m trying to set up my own business, so I was totally stuck and desperate. Now I just feel stupid for falling for it and I’m absolutely heartbroken.

What a truly soul-crushing con! I’ve just lost my job and while I was on the line with them, I noticed the money was being siphoned from my account. They kept me chatting away, promising to sort out their mistake and return the funds, all the while ensuring I couldn't intervene and stop the dodgy transaction. I revealed to them the anguish I was experiencing due to being redundant, tears streaming down my face over the money that had been taken from me, and it’s shocking to see how utterly callous they were. To make matters worse, they had shut me out of my computer, and with me trying to establish my own business, they left me feeling utterly powerless. Now, I’m left with a sense of utter foolishness for being taken in, and I can’t shake this feeling of despair. - caller: 016181844905

Someone phoned claiming to be from Microsoft, which is total nonsense. I told the folks here to let them know we don't have any computers on site. (I'm actually working at our main office)
