Then about 10 minutes later, I rang back the first number to check an email they gave me, but it was one I’ve never heard of. Told them that email isn't mine and I have a different one for my actual account. Seems like they had the wrong person.

I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Whenever I got the call, I could hear people speaking either Hindi or Urdu in the background, so it’s likely coming from a call centre in India or Pakistan.

Some bloke rang me and was proper pushy, insisting my business contract had expired. I kept saying it hadn’t, but he wouldn’t listen and kept asking for my info. I told him he ought to already have it, but he just wouldn’t back off. In the end, I just hung up cos he was being a total pain.

Got a call from an Indian bloke asking for meter readings for a business that isn't mine. He kept insisting on getting the owner’s phone number, which I wasn’t comfortable sharing. I'm pretty sure this is a scam. They've been ringing different numbers asking for the business owner or someone named Sabrina. I've been getting these calls nearly every day for about a month and a half now. The person on the line sounds like a softly spoken Indian man, and he always begins with "Good evening madam." It's getting a bit annoying, I keep blocking the numbers, but they somehow manage to ring back.

At precisely 10:20 this morning on the 10th of March 2023, a right charlatan attempted to gain access to my computer. It’s absolutely disgraceful how these scammers target the elderly! Honestly, they ought to face the music for their despicable actions. I sincerely hope the authorities manage to apprehend these dishonest rogues, especially since they’re using a phoney number registered to a legitimate business. Got a call from a withheld number, then this number popped up next. They said they were EDF but couldn’t even get my company’s name right. Pretty standard call centre with an Indian accent. I just ended the call and now I’m blocking the number.

They said they were from British Gas and wanted to talk about the energy bills linked to our company address. It was quite clear it was dodgy - the caller’s English was awful, nothing like a proper call centre. Also, the way they opened the call, asking “How are you today?” felt weird and like they were trying to get on my good side quickly. The biggest giveaway?
