I got a call from someone called "John," his accent made me think he was somewhere abroad. He barely gave any info, just said something about a heart attack claim being approved. When I said that didn’t add up, he suddenly switched to saying I'd taken out a loan. I asked which one, and he just said "a bank," no specifics. Pressed him for details, and all he could say was "your bank." By then, I was sure it was a scam, told him I had his number saved and to stop calling me, then ended the call.

Just like loads of others have said here, the guy sounded like he had an accent but there was no background noise at first. Then as soon as I answered with 'hello', suddenly there was a lot of noise like a busy office. He asked if there was any mould, cracks or any damage around my place that needed fixing. He rang my work number and since it's a brand-new flat, I told him no. Then he just ended the call.

Called by 01618182803 on the 14th June 2023. When I picked up there was a clicking sound, then it went completely silent with some background noise like a busy line. They started apologising about a claim of mine not going through and mentioned something about PPI and a BT refund. I told them I had absolutely no idea what they were talking about. I asked if it was a scam and then, not surprising, they just hung up on me.

My landline is on the TPS list, but I still got a call. When I answered, a guy with an Asian accent and rough English was trying to chat about a PPI claim I supposedly made. It was clearly a con, so I said so and ended the call, then blocked the number. Sadly, I can’t report it to Action Fraud since I wasn’t actually tricked and they don’t track scam calls that don’t succeed.

I received a rather peculiar proposal-apparently, I could secure a voyage to Mars for a mere £4999.99. I promptly declined, however, as this same individual had previously dangled a similar carrot for a ‘cruise around the moon’ with the same fee. Honestly, I can’t fathom how the cost would be any less for a Martian escapade, particularly when there’s no place to stay once we’ve landed. Even if I packed my own lunch, I suspect expenses would only soar!
