There was a brief silence then a robotic voice came on saying it was from HM Revenue and Customs, warning me about an unpaid tax fraud issue. It's definitely a SCAM, so be cautious, especially since others have mentioned the recorded messages claim to be from different agencies!

Total scam alert. Some bloke with an Indian accent calling, saying I’ve got compensation for a crash from last year. Claiming I’m due £4000, but asked for details about the accident. Somebody phoned asking if we’d been in a car crash over the past couple of years. My husband told them he’s disabled and not able to drive.
