This number has been ringing my phone loads today. Every time I pick up, there’s no one there - no hello, no sound, just silence before the call ends. It’s really odd and kinda annoying. I’m based in the UK on O2, and honestly, these calls need to be stopped. I found this site very useful though, it helps to leave it ringing because those callers don’t wanna get charged for voicemail or leave any proof. This number has been calling me off and on for a few weeks now. The guy on the line said his name was Frank, which is odd since that’s also my fiancé’s name. He asked if I had applied for a loan and then tried to get my bank info. After getting scammed last year, I wasn’t having any of it and told him to buzz off. They keep ringing though, and I reckon they’re Indian guys. Seriously, don’t ever share your bank details with them - they’re definitely scammers. Stay careful!

I reckon those 0161 calls are part of some nationwide scam ring. Just tell them you’re recording the chat on your mobile, never share any personal info, and ask to have a word with their manager. Also, let them know you're passing their number on to Action Fraud and the cops. If you do that, they’ll likely stop bothering you after a while.
