These dodgy callers hit up folks who’ve just changed address, saying you’re stuck on ‘out of contract’ prices and they can help you save a bit. I got a call claiming I was paying more on my electricity with npower and was off contract. When I said that wasn’t true, they just ended the call straight away. Classic scam trying to rope you into their deals.

this morning i got a call from this number, claiming to be some kind of utility registry checking in on people who are moving house. then i also got phoned three times by 01217329986, same script but different voices each time. they wanted me to verify the postcode of my new place, but when i asked how they already knew i was moving yet didn’t know the address, the line went dead. total scam, but seriously, i’ve had like 9 calls since 8:08am and it’s really starting to get on my nerves.

Beware of people pretending to be from the gas and electric board - that’s not a real thing. These scammers try to trick you, so make sure you don’t share any personal info with them. They’re just con artists looking to fool you.

They kept ringing all day, nearly 20 calls about electricity and gas from various numbers. I finally picked up once and they just ended the call straight away. Proper annoying, so I’ve blocked them now.

Somebody called me using my first name and claimed to be from the gas and electricity registry. When i asked how they had my work phone (not my private one), the woman just said "no idea how, they just give them to me". I told her i wasn’t comfortable with them having my info and asked to be removed from their list, but she cut the call off before i could finish.
