This girl from Asia called and asked if she was talking to Mr Mark. I said yes. Then she asked if I ever had a credit card since 2001. I said yes again. She asked with who? I started listing Halifax, Lloyds, HSBC, Nat West, Santander and Nationwide Bank of Scotland, I was just messing about. She said I’m owed £1200 back. I asked how much she wants as commission. She said nothing, it’s a no win no fee thing. I told her I’m no mug and she just hung up. Total waste of time, honestly. They should have been blasted into space when they were made or something.

It’s quite amusing, while I was reporting this number here, they rang me again. I mentioned he was calling from Manchester and he didn’t seem fazed. Then I brought up the 20,000 complaints against them, but that didn’t stop him going on about how I supposedly owed money yada yada. He just kept on talking, so I got a bit cheeky with him and told him to remove my name from their contacts. Not sure he actually paid any attention tho.

Got a call earlier claiming I was owed some cash. When I started asking questions, the lady on the phone said she had to look into my account first to see if there was any money for me. The story kept changing the whole time. I told her just send the money if it’s real. After a bit she backed off, but then rang me again a few hours later. Blocked straight away.

I kept receiving calls from someone who was incessantly searching for a Mrs Fisher, despite the fact that I neither know her nor share my abode with anyone by that name. When I kindly informed her that I had no idea who she was referring to, she simply replied, “Alright, cheers for your time,” and promptly hung up. Quite the strange encounter!

Got a call saying they’re sending me a cheque for £1033. I asked the lady what company she was from, how they got my number, and if it was some kind of PPI firm. She said the company was Assure Finance and claimed they helped with PPI stuff, just trying to do me a favour. She said she wanted to send me a letter with a form to fill in and send back. She kept saying she just had a few questions for me, so I let her go on. First thing she asked about was my bank details. Then I told her I wasn’t giving personal info over the phone. The call was ended right after that.

Typical PPI claim spiel. They always claim they ain't trying to push anything on you, but they do cos they get a cut from any payout so they're definitely selling something. They rang asking for Mrs ...... but when I wanted to know who was on the line, he launched into some scripted spiel about trying to contact me for a while and that I’d soon get a letter about a refund of £2,500 from my credit cards. I told him he must have the wrong number since I’m not Mrs ....... and promptly ended the call. I’d just got in after a 13-hour shift and wasn’t up for any disturbance at all. Pretty sure if I’d stayed on the phone longer, he’d have ended up wanting my bank details ‘to organise the refund’!
