They claimed to be Domestic and General and have called about 8 times over the past few days. One call was completely silent. When I finally got someone on the phone, I told him their company should be called Thrust. When he asked why, I said because they’re really irritating customer service.

I’ve been receiving around five calls a day from this number for the past several days. I’ve decided to just ignore the calls now. My husband picked up the first call, and it was some sort of sales pitch about the warranty expiring on our washing machine we've only had for six months - such nonsense! Fortunately, my husband told them I handle all that sort of thing and that I wasn't available at the moment. Since then, they’ve kept ringing non-stop!

A guy called 'Robin' from some 'Home Appliance' company saying the insurance on my old washing machine was running out. I was a bit sceptical but ended up agreeing to monthly payments of £9. Right after hanging up, I started having second thoughts and when I looked the number up online, I saw it was a scam. Felt proper silly but rang my bank straight away. They told me as soon as the direct debit goes through, just cancel it. Luckily, I only gave them my sort code and account number, not my card details. He did try to get me to pay a lump sum first. Watch out for this!

The bloke assured me he’d take me off their "list"... fingers crossed it does the trick! My washing machine has been limping along for two decades now, how ridiculous!

I received a call from someone who appeared to be representing a Home Appliance Insurance Company. They left a voicemail claiming that my insurance had lapsed. However, I do hold a policy with Appliance Care Cover, and my service agreement is valid until October 2017. Quite baffling, really!

i had almost the same thing happen today. some caller from a home appliance company rang me to say my zanussi washing machine warranty was up. but i actually renewed mine last october and it’s only good until october 2017. seems like they are trying to fool people into paying for fake warranties so they can steal bank info.
