Over the past few days, I’ve had about six or eight calls from these people while I was working. They even have my full name and number. A mate said they managed to talk to someone from this Eastbourne firm they claim to be. When I tried calling their number, it just goes to a voicemail telling you to email them if you want to opt out. But if you email, they end up with your email too and start spamming your inbox alongside the constant phone calls. There’s gotta be some way to stop these annoying calls for good.

Lately, I’ve been getting quite a few calls from this number, or one that’s almost identical, over the past week. I try to keep things chill, knowing the person on the other end is just working to earn a living, even if their calls are a bit annoying. So, I’ve started emailing them instead since that way I actually get to talk to a real person. I’ve had a bit of fun with it too - they don’t seem to mind me chatting about my imaginary new shed called “The Mullet”. In my most recent email, I mentioned how they were somehow trying to sell stuff to my 10-year-old nephew, which caught the attention of a bloke named David Armstrong, the Engagement Director. He was quick to reply and made it seem like they’re taking the matter seriously (though I’m pretty sure that’s just talk). If you get these calls, I’d suggest setting up a throwaway email and sending them something similar. Feels like a tiny victory!

So just to clear things up, 1st Call Group is actually from South Africa and has nothing to do with Denuo Data at all. Denuo doesn’t partner with them in any way and they don’t run any sort of call centre for outgoing or incoming calls.

I've finally figured out who was ringing me. The calls come from a Manchester call centre called First Point. When I called them out and mentioned I'd report them, they admitted they were just working on behalf of another company. They then sent me this info: Name & Registered Office: DENUO DATA LIMITED, 2B HADDO STREET, GREENWICH, LONDON SE10 9RN, Company No. 09032971. After some research, I found out the owner is Daniel Francis, who also goes by Danny Francis on various business networking sites. His mobile number is 07776 422036. After a chat with this wee scammer, he promised to take me off their list and even offered £100 for the hassle. So far, I've had no more calls, just like he said.
