Somebody rang saying they were with O2 and wanted me to do a survey since I apparently used an O2 Wifi Hotspot. Their first question was about which network I’m with. Part One: So, I only began getting these annoying calls after I took part in a “Win the newest iPhone” contest, where I gave my mobile number thinking I’d be contacted if I won. I thought it was just a simple prize draw, like the kind you find in weekend newspaper magazines (I’ve actually won stuff like a PS4 Pro before). But once the survey started asking detailed things about which broadband provider I had, I guessed what was happening and stopped the survey halfway through. Still, the calls kept coming nonstop!

02 use outsource companies so this firm is totally legit. All those comps, surveys and market research apps will sign u up to get marketing calls from third parties. In this case, an 02 pay as u go sim. If ur details got passed about, it's cos u willingly gave them out and it’s on u if u get bothered. U wanted to try an iPhone or win some Primark vouchers, so u basically asked for it. Wanting freebies comes with these small catches. So yeah, enjoy ur free sim. Cheers!

It’s not just O2, can’t remember the company’s name but it sounds completely unfamiliar. I told them firmly to stop calling and remove my details, then blocked the number. But they keep ringin from different numbers, every time I block one, another pops up. So far I’ve had calls from 0161 814 7226, 0161 814 4735, 0161 375 1069, 0161 820 2632, and a few more. It’s really annoying!

The calls actually come from a third-party company hired by Telefonica (O2), so they're not fibbing about who they’re calling from. They ring you because you signed up for a contest to win stuff like vouchers, a phone, or to be a mystery shopper. If you don’t want these calls, just don’t take part in the surveys in the first place. Also, keep in mind the people ringing you are just trying to earn a crust, it’s not really their fault we filled out those surveys.

Received a call claiming to be from O2, stating that I'd requested a complimentary SIM card. They even gave my full name and accurate home address. Given the shocking coverage from O2 in my locality, there's no way I’d ever choose them for a SIM card. They mentioned it would arrive in 3 to 5 days. I'm left wondering what additional information they're after, aside from what’s already readily available to them.

I don’t pick up when they call, and they usually hang up after about 10-20 seconds anyway. But they keep ringing several times a day, like 3 or 4 times, really annoying now. I switched from O2 ages ago, now I’m with EE and pretty pleased with them. Honestly, I’d only go back to O2 if they offered me a free new top-of-the-line phone. Didn’t get a call but got a text saying "I'm tied up right now. Will ring you back shortly." Then another message came from +27777 saying I’d just messaged a home or work number and asked me to reply with my name so the recipient would know who sent it. I received a call yesterday from someone purporting to be with O2, and they were quite aggressive when I inquired about how they obtained my number. They insisted that I had applied online for a complimentary SIM card, which is completely untrue. I firmly told them to erase my information and ended the call.

It appears that UKmysteryshopper, which is a dodgy operation claiming to pay £100 for mystery shopping assignments with companies like M7 S and others, had sold my details after I registered with them the day before.

I made sure to block their number right after the call. They tried to ring again, but thankfully my phone didn't alert me since I had blocked them.

I've received four calls from this number over the past couple of days, so I've finally decided to block them.

This number has been calling me two to three times daily without fail. It’s incredibly irritating and feels like pure harassment!

They claimed to be from O2, kept bugging me about who I’m with now, quite irritating to be honest.

Sigh, I’m putting this here just to balance out that dodgy ‘trustworthy’ review someone posted earlier. Some idiot scammers must be aware of this site or else how’d they keep trying their tricks?

Got a call from some Irish bloke saying I’d won a prize from 02, like I entered some contest or something and now I’m eligible for a cheap contract deal or whatever. Total rubbish, just spam. I’ve blocked the number now!

He claimed to be from O2 and told me I was a customer, which I’m definitely not. The guy didn’t come across as very professional and eventually realised I wasn’t with O2, then just thanked me for my time. It was a bit odd, honestly.

I received a call from this number today at half past eleven and then again at a quarter past four. I wasn't familiar with it, and to be honest, my little Jack Russell goes absolutely bonkers and barks his head off whenever my phone rings. So, if the caller isn't recognised, I tend to let it go to voicemail. It's brilliant to have this website to uncover who's behind the mystery call. Much appreciated!

I couldn't pick up the call but seeing what others have said, it could be genuine. I did sign up for a chance to win a free 02 sim through some online contest. But if folks here never joined anything like that then it does sound a bit sketchy.

I've received two calls from them today, the first one around eleven and another just now! When I picked up the second time, I had my phone on silent, and they greeted me by name, which is a bit odd considering I’m not even eighteen yet. I'm curious to find out if this is some sort of scam because I also got a text earlier mentioning a free SIM card. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Please share your thoughts!

They wanted my bank details and even my driving licence number, said it was a free call about a new O2 sim with better deals but it felt fishy so I just hung up. Then I got another call back, this time from an 0800 number with the same story. When I asked if they could verify the first caller, they refused. Definitely be cautious with calls like this.
