I picked up a call from a mobile number today and was greeted by a rather distinct Mancunian chatter amidst a call centre hum. Strangely, the caller didn't utter a word. This is the second time today I've received a call from a number that looks very much like 0161 814 6070. It’s quite frustrating, as I receive these sorts of calls frequently, even though I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service.

Received a call from this number and couldn’t quite grasp what they were on about. All I could make out was some chuckling in the background before they abruptly ended the call. Quite baffling, really!

Got a call today from someone claiming to be the PPI team out of Manchester. They already knew my address and postcode which seemed a bit off. They said they'd send me a claims pack and asked which banks I'd used before. I could hear loads of other people talking in the background, which made me suspicious. Not sure if it’s a legit company or a scam. They said they'd email me and asked me to reply to a woman named Amaka Okpalugo. I got a bit uneasy when she mentioned she was Nigerian as I’ve had a few dodgy calls from there before.

The person calling never told me their name, and when I asked to be removed from their list, she got really cheeky and asked what I thought the call was about. After I said it again, she started yelling "who do you think you're speaking to?" I hung up right away and signed up with the TPS. I’ll definitely report them if they call again. These calls are annoying enough, but I’ve never come across someone so rude, unprofessional, and plain rude like this. Seems like that’s just how they do things at this company.
