I received a rather peculiar call the other day. The gentleman on the line claimed to be Darren Smith, though his heavy Asian accent made it quite hard to follow what he was saying. He mentioned something about a repayment I was due to receive within the next few days. The noise in the background was horrendous-definitely gave away that it was some sort of call centre operation. I was a bit chilly with him, said I couldn't quite make out his words, and politely ended the conversation. This number has been plaguing me for the last three months, ringing almost every day, though I usually opt not to pick up.

01618143070 kept ringing me daily for nearly a month. Today, I finally picked up and the bloke on the end had a South African accent. What creeped me out was that he already knew quite a bit about me! An advisor from the Action Fraud site told me to report it as fraud right away.
