Got a bunch of calls from this number on my phone today, says it might be a scam. Funny thing is, most who answered said the caller claimed to be from Curry’s. I actually got a new smart TV delivered today but it was from Richer Sounds, not Curry’s. So I’ve just blocked the number now.

I had a rather peculiar encounter recently. A chap rang me, claiming to be from Currys, and started prattling on about a purchase I apparently made back in September of last year. Strike me down, I’ve never bought anything from Currys, so I gently pointed that out and enquired further about what he was on about. After a moment's hesitation, he then mumbled something about it actually being an April transaction. Now, considering we’re on the brink of April 2021, I found it all a tad dodgy, especially given that he was referencing an April purchase from the previous year. Sounds to me like some dodgy individual is up to no good, possibly trying to fish for my personal information.

I rang the number back and got a voicemail saying it was Currys PC World warning me that my appliance warranty was about to run out. Decided to block the number straight away.

They claimed to be from PC World. They tried to get me to buy insurance for my dishwasher I got last year and said the warranty was about to finish (which was right). But I also got a message on my phone saying my passwords on several websites, Currys included, had been breached. Seriously, don’t share any details with these callers.
