Not too sure why but even though I’ve put the number on my block list, it keeps trying to ring me, and I keep spotting it in my blocked calls every now and then.

This number kept calling me, pretending to be police talking about some kind of order against someone not allowed near us. They even claimed to be a solicitor named JAY&GEE, using loads of different phone numbers. The woman was nonstop ringing me, even on a Saturday morning, which is odd cos solicitors don’t usually work weekends. When I finally spoke, she was really abrupt and rude - I had someone else with me and they noticed too. I just told her off, asking who she thought she was speaking to, and hung up. She kept calling after that, but I ignored her. At one point, I stupidly sent a bank statement, then something clicked and I realised this was fishy. She kept telling me to do this and that, kept pressing me about emails and saying I was on certain benefits, which I’m not, calling me a liar. When I said I wouldn’t do anything, she kept repeating that she’d explain again and I needed to listen. She spouted on about equity, but I didn’t get where she was coming from. She just talked over me when I tried to respond, saying I wasn’t listening. I asked what she was actually doing for me and got no answer, just that she was the solicitor and I owed them money. I told her I knew how solicitors worked and blocked the number. Then, it felt like my phone was hacked - calls and texts kept coming even after I wiped it and blocked the numbers again and again. This one number ringing was supposed to be a solicitor’s London office, but when I checked, it was just a flat with no such business. I ignored emails too until my husband opened them - they were asking about mortgage payments and how much was left. When I mentioned the police and some sort of restraining order, I realised none of it made sense. The number was saved with +44, which made me suspicious from the start. My social worker saw the texts I’d got from them and called the ‘solicitor’ - she asked how I’d gotten in touch. Turns out it was all fake, with a name that didn’t match the one on the messages. When I tried calling the number back, I reached actual police but the whole thing left my phone acting weird, like it was hacked or controlled somehow. I’m feeling really uneasy about my social workers too, no longer trusting them. I even told my GP who was worried and suggested safeguarding, but thinks the police and bank should also be informed. Honestly, I’m just glad I wasn’t fooled, even with my anxiety and mental health problems. This has really messed me up, and until I know what’s going on, I can’t settle. Got a call saying “your taxi's here” and then they just hung up on me. Bit strange since I'd only just got to work. Definitely didn't order a taxi though!

No idea who it was, I just ended the call straight away.
