I got a voicemail claiming it was from HMRC. I rang the number back just to check it out and the person who answered said “HMRC, how can I help?”, but I could tell straight away it was a scam. Turns out they’re based in India. When I told the bloke that I knew it was a scam, he actually started laughing! Be careful out there, don’t reply to these kinds of calls or texts. If you’ve got an Android, I’d recommend downloading “t####er” to help block them.

Got a ring from 01617918133, and suddenly this automated message popped up, claiming to be from HMRC. It said I needed to call that exact number back because it was urgent about some legal matter. When I phoned them, a person with an Indian accent barely said anything before going silent, with some Indian music playing in the background, then they just ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I had a rather peculiar experience with a call from 01617918133. Initially, a recorded message came through, claiming to be from HMRC. It urged me to ring back the same number if I had any legal matters to address. When I did return the call, I was greeted by someone who had an Indian accent. They muttered a couple of words before suddenly falling silent, and I could hear Indian music playing in the background. Quite bizarre, really, before they abruptly cut me off.

I got a rather alarming automated message the other day, claiming there was an urgent issue that could lead to legal action if I didn't return the call. The recorded voice mentioned that the number belonged to Customs and Excise. It instructed me to get in touch with that number myself, or even better, have my solicitor reach out on my behalf. Quite concerning, to say the least!
