My elderly folks got ringed up 5 times just yesterday on their landline by the number 01617861144. No one answered and after a bit of silence, some robotic voice said "you have been timed out" then it just cut off. Proper annoying stuff!

Today I got a call from a person who spoke really bad English, I could barely catch what she was saying. She claimed she was calling from some global web service and said there was an issue with my computer or server. I told her straight away she didn't know a thing about my system. Then she asked if anyone else living with me had a computer. Total scam alert. Watch out for this - they try to trick you into pressing control X or something similar, then they sneak into your machine and swipe whatever they can.

Got a call from 01617861144 today. A bloke with a thick Asian accent said he was from some Western company or something, trying to convince me there was a virus on my laptop. I just left the phone off to the side and didn’t say a word. Eventually, he figured out I wasn’t answering and just dropped the call. Pretty typical scam move if you ask me.

I got a call from someone saying it was from “your server on the www” or something like that. They told me my computer wasn’t working right and I needed to go to it and switch it on or something. Honestly, don’t trust it, it’s definitely a scam. Just ignore any instructions like that.
