Got calls from some firm asking if I’d put money into bitcoin. They were quite pushy and wouldn’t reply to any of my questions unless I handed over all my personal info. Over about two hours, they kept ringing from different numbers and just wouldn’t quit. Ended up blocking every single one of them.

Last year, after looking into something about Bitcoin, I suddenly started getting bombarded with calls not only from this number but loads of others as well. Even though I told them I wasn’t interested anymore, the calls just kept coming, often at the most ridiculous hours and they'd hang up within seconds. It’s driving me mad, especially with my daughter living abroad and my husband seriously ill with cancer. Honestly, I clicked on a link from "Stuff NZ," a free news site, after reading something about our Prime Minister, and now I’m just so done with all these nuisance calls.

Somebody rang me saying they were from the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) and began by asking if I’d had any issues with a firm dealing in bitcoin investments. When I asked why they were ringing, they just insisted on asking me questions first and refused to answer mine unless I said whether I’d put any money in. I asked for their phone number so I could ring back, but they kept saying I hadn’t replied properly. I ended the call. Not long after, the same number, 061 768 9206, called me again wanting to know why I’d cut off. I hung up again and blocked both numbers straight away.
