4 yearsWithin just ten minutes, I got a series of annoying calls that were quite irritating. Really persistent and a bit of a nuisance.4 yearsTotal scam involving Bitcoin. This bloke claimed he was from Blockchain and told me I needed to pay income tax. According to him, I had to put 130,000 AUD into my crypto exchange (Binance) before I could get any money back. Here’s why it’s rubbish: first off, Blockchain would never call and demand you transfer money into your crypto wallet as some kind of “mirror transaction”. Second, in Australia, Bitcoin isn’t subject to income tax rates but is treated under capital gains tax. Third, most crypto platforms don’t require you to have funds in your wallet just to receive money. Honestly, this guy was a complete waste of time. Just block him. The number that called me was +441617688869.BlockchainAustraliaBitcoin4 yearsGot a call from some bloke claiming to be from Blockchain, saying I owed income tax and needed to transfer 130,000 AUD into my Bitcoin Binance account to get my money back. Honestly, it was dodgy from the start. Firstly, Blockchain would never ring you up asking for money to be put into your crypto wallet as some kind of mirror transfer. Secondly, in Australia, Bitcoin doesn't get taxed as income - it’s treated as capital gains, so the whole tax claim was bogus. Lastly, most crypto exchanges don’t even demand you have funds or crypto in your wallet to receive anything. So yeah, this guy was a total waste of time. Do yourself a favour and block the number +441617688869 before they try the same rubbish on you.BlockchainAustraliaBitcoin4 yearsSo I got a call from someone claiming to be from Blockchain, saying I owed income tax and needed to transfer 130,000 AUD into my Binance account before I could get my money back. First off, no official Blockchain company would ever ring you up asking you to transfer cash into your crypto wallet as some kind of mirror transaction. Also, here in Australia, Bitcoin isn't taxed like regular income - it's considered capital gains tax. Plus, you don’t need to have funds or crypto already in your wallet to receive money on most exchanges. Honestly, this bloke was trying to scam me. Don't waste your time, just block him!BlockchainAustralia5 yearsTo anyone thinking of investing in bitcoin through this number - be very careful, it's a scam.
