Got a call from 0161 768 6587, sounded way too cheerful for HMRC - doubt they normally check in asking how you’re doing. Definitely one of those Manchester numbers you don’t wanna pick up!

I just received a call from this number saying they were from Tax Link in Manchester. They asked if I wanted info about getting some money, or if I was eligible, but I just kept saying no to everything. They also couldn’t really explain how they had my phone number or how they knew my name. I only give my personal number out to close family, so it felt dodgy right from the start.
