I've been receiving calls from a persistent cold caller who appears to be using various phone numbers, one of which is 01617686492.

For sure one of those cold call scams. They rang me from several numbers that all looked pretty much the same except for the last few digits. Every time I picked up, they just hung up straight away.

I keep receiving calls from this number, but they seem to hang up just before I can pick up. If they believe I'm going to ring back an overseas number, they're sorely mistaken! In the past month alone, I've had to block a staggering 82 numbers associated with this firm, all of which have varying last four digits. Quite the nuisance, I must say!
