Yep, it was that car crash story. The caller seemed quite nice at first, but I quickly got the feeling I wasn’t interested. The call had a weird vibe though. Every time she paused for me to reply, the line cut out briefly then came back a moment later once I’d said something - like it was using pre-recorded clips matched up to what I said by some sort of software. If that’s how it worked, honestly that’s pretty spooky!

Straightforward really: If there’s no message left, just forget about it and hit delete. They claim to offer legal counsel but answer in some strange accent, and I was left hanging for ages. It's obviously another scam on the line. Honestly, it's high time that the firms peddling our numbers face some serious consequences-ideally shut down or, at the very least, fined heavily. These calls can be everything from mildly irritating to downright harassing. My advice? Simply disregard them and remove them from your phone.

When I asked how they got my details, the lady just rattled through her scripted spiel. After I started speaking a bit louder, she finally said they'd take me off their list. Some accident claims firm keeps calling me. I just say, “Which accident? I've had a few last year. Was it the one where I injured a cyclist? Really annoying scam caller pretending to be about accident claims. If you stay quiet when you pick up, they just hang up, but if you respond, they start a fake chat like “It’s about your car accident” hoping you’ll bite and they can scam you. They use a bunch of similar Manchester numbers too, like 0161 768 6222 and others. I’ve blocked all 0161 768 numbers now. Weirdly, I only get these calls on my mobile, never on my home phone.

Its a sketchy, not legit caller pushing personal injury claims. They blatantly ignore the TPS rules and ring up anyone they want. Plus, they dont follow the Data Protection Act at all. Proper shady and risky to deal with. Best to just not pick up and block the number straight away.
