Got a call saying I’m due extra cash from some PPI claim I supposedly made back in 2018. I wasn’t buying it one bit and didn’t hand over any info for them to send a cheque. If there was actually money owed, the firm I dealt with before would have my details and would sort it straight away.

I've had a chat with them, and it seems they've got my information from Harrington Consultancy, which has unfortunately gone belly up. They tried to pressure me into handing over my bank details, claiming they needed it to send me a cheque for tax reasons. The funny thing is, they couldn't even tell me the amount of the cheque! I told them to erase my details from their records and warned them that I'd be reporting their nuisance calls. This isn't the first time these blokes have rung me - it's becoming rather tiresome!

Got a couple of calls this week with someone asking for my NI number. Absolutely no way I’m giving that out, so I’ve blocked the number straight away.

Got a call from what looked like a Manchester number, but turned out to be ppi scammers from India. Don’t get tricked like I almost did. I’ve blocked the number now.

Got a call from this number claiming to be doing a survey. They were actually pretty polite, which was surprising. I told them I wasn't able to talk and then went ahead and blocked the number. Lately, I've had a really bad experience with a scammer who called me from a Manchester area code, so I don’t take chances now.

For the past week or so, this number 01617682022 has been ringing me twice daily. Whenever I pick up, they just cut off straight away. I put it on block but now there’s this annoying high-pitched sound left on my answerphone. Before that, 01617682507 was doing exactly the same, but I managed to answer and hang up quick enough to stop them. It’s really frustrating and feels like an invasion of my privacy. Yesterday, I got hit with a couple of dodgy calls. I ended the calls straight away because I thought they were trying to scam me. After the first call, I blocked the number, but then another call came through from a number that was just a bit different, so I blocked that one too. It’s crazy how these scammers keep switching numbers. Can’t they be tracked down and stopped by the authorities? Loads of older folks aren’t as clued up about phone and internet safety as I am, so it worries me.
