They claimed to be from Sky, but that definitely wasn’t true.

This isn't the first time I've got a message from them, saying they have free PPI bundles but with a 99p charge for postage.

Someone called me from 0161 768 1678 and it was this posh sounding bloke saying he was verifying some credit card details, but I haven't had that card for ages. He mentioned something about an insurance for my TV or something. Must say, it left me a bit uncomfortable, not sure why though.

Big time scam alert. They wanted to talk to my 86-year-old dad, claiming his insurance was up for renewal - he doesn’t even have any insurance! Told the caller where to shove it, absolute rubbish targeting the elderly like that. Just preying on the vulnerable again, shameful.

Got a call from someone claiming to sort out insurance for my TV, which I’ve never even owned! They were pushing hard to get my bank info - definitely a scam trying to steal my money.

This number kept ringing me non-stop. After going through the comments here, I’ve decided to block it. Cheers for the heads up!

Someone called asking for a person who's been gone for like 40 years, sounds like a complete rip-off. I just ended the call right away.

If she keeps being all pushy like that, maybe she should end up locked away in some freezing jail cell, cos honestly that’s where she’s heading.

This woman kept insisting it was some kind of support insurance. She was so overbearing, I had to tell her straight up not to ring me again. She refused to have a proper chat, even though I look after my really old dad. Felt quite unsafe, to be honest.

I think this number rang me a while ago asking for someone by their first name, which struck me as odd. When I said that person had actually retired like three years back, the caller just ended the call.

Got a call from a fancy-sounding bloke asking for my bank info, claimed there was an issue with my TV insurance direct debit. Definitely a scam!

Got a call from an unknown number and figured I'd give this site a try first - really pleased I did. Just blocked that number now, cheers to everyone here! 👌

So, I got a call from this bloke called Anton who spoke to my grandad about renewing some washing machine insurance with a company called 'Prominence Support'. Thing is, my grandad has never signed up for any washing machine insurance there. When I tried to get more details from Anton, he couldn’t really explain anything and just started pushing for payment. It felt really dodgy.

Definitely NOT legit. This scammer keeps ringing non-stop, especially targeting older folks. Gets really nasty, yelling over the phone, demanding a 3 digit security code. Pretends to be from Sky Protect, but Sky themselves said it’s a scam. Could be a bloke or a lass on the other end, and they get quite hostile if you’re not the person who owns the house. They don’t give up easily and ring other numbers linked to you too.

Picked up the phone and as soon as I did, they just dropped the call. Sounds like one of those marketing spam calls where they ring you from a bunch of numbers.

Got a call from some scammer claiming they wanted to give me a refund for a warranty I never even bought. Total nonsense.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Sky. They told me my Sky box insurance had run out and said they tried to get my card info from the bank but got refused. Asked if I could just give my bank details over the phone. I just ended the call straight away.

This number has rung me before, and I never pick up calls from strangers, yet it's starting to get really annoying now.

My mum got a call from this number, with someone claiming to be from home protect. She handed the phone over to me, and the caller told me her washing machine insurance payment hadn't gone through and wanted her card info. I quickly said no way!

I keep getting these calls over and over. They pretend to sell insurance for Sky boxes, like fixing any problems you might have, but it’s all a con. They actually managed to scam my late husband, and ever since he passed away, they’ve been pestering me nonstop. Honestly, they’re just awful.

Every now and then this person rings me up, always really polite though. I don’t bother calling back ’cause if they want to speak again, they’ll ring, simple as that! Sounds quite believable, but honestly, if she calls one more time, I’m not going to be so nice. There’s way too many pushy people about these days.

Got a call from this number but when I answered, there was nobody on the other end. Bit strange, tbh.

got a call from them yesterday talking about marketing and saying it’s fine to call since they weren’t selling anything directly. well, marketing is basically just gathering info to pass on to advertisers who'll then flood your phone with junk calls. i told them straight away to remove my number but still keep getting calls now and then - maybe they’re ignoring me or just dialing numbers randomly from a list. have reported them to the tps as well.

Got a call that sounded like a recorded message from some PR company in the UK or something like that. The voice said, “sorry but no callers available right now” - so what’s the point in ringing me then? Seems like one of those robo-callers. They mentioned if I didn’t want any more calls to get in touch via an email address like “pr something [###],” but they said it so fast I couldn't catch it properly. Proper annoying that.

Got a call from someone who sounded like a young lass in a hurry, there was loads of noise in the background. She didn’t even bother with a proper hello, just started with “I’m just trying to get...” and then cut off right away. I hardly ever get calls on this landline and I’ve signed up to the marketing opt-out, so whoever this was, they’re definitely not playing by the rules.

some young woman rang up asking for my mum and dad. problem is, my dad has passed away and my mum’s in a care home. she wouldn’t say her name or what she wanted and when i got a bit annoyed, she called me rude. well, i was fed up - these calls always seem to go after elderly folks who are vulnerable. if it was legit, she’d have told me right away who she was and why she was ringing. if she tries again, she’s in for a shock.

I wasn’t hanging about to listen properly when they mentioned the name of someone who used to live here, but has never had my phone number. When I questioned them, they claimed it was listed in a "UK marketing database”. I didn’t hold back and was quite sharp with them.
