My landline rang at precisely 12:25 in the morning on Thursday, 11 February 2021. As soon as I let it go to the answering machine, the call promptly disconnected. I reckon this number poses a significant risk.

I received a rather alarming call purporting to be from HMRC, claiming there was some sort of tax fraud issue, warning me that I could be arrested. They instructed me to press 1 to speak with someone, and when I did, they asked for my name and address right off the bat. Then, they proceeded to request my personal details, including my date of birth. I was quite uneasy with sharing such sensitive information, so I asked them for a contact number and an extension. Instead of helping, they told me to look up HMRC's number on Google Chrome and then cut the call without any further ado. Quite an unsettling experience, to say the least!
