SCAM ALERT!!! This bloke said my number got passed around to them, asking for my personal stuff, something about a debt scheme. Just google ‘action fraud,’ go to ‘police.uk’, find the ‘report’ section, and flag it as a phishing call. No need to sign up or anything. This bloke phoned me up, knew my name and where I live, said I owed money and he could clear 80% of it thanks to some 1986 law the government put in place. When I told him I knew exactly who he was and threw back some quotes from the Taken films, he called me a smartarse but really was just a muppet. These scammers ring me from that company at least twice daily, sometimes pretending to be from the tax office. I usually keep them chatting for ages if I’m in the mood.

Oh, this bloke called Eric rang me up saying I owed money and that his manager had given him my info to help sort it out. I told him I wasn’t interested and was busy, but he kept going. I left him sitting while I went to the loo, and he was still there when I got back. I told him to get on with his spiel, but I wasn’t having any of it. Then he asked how much I owed. I said if he really had my details, he’d know that already. He guessed £5,000, I said no, then guessed between £3,000-£4,000, still no. He told me to stop wasting his time and then hung up. Could 'who-called' please block any posts containing 'K#### Q####'? This person is spoiling the reputation of the site. More importantly, anyone getting calls from this scam number should report it to Action Fraud through their phishing report page. Also, follow the online steps to submit further info to the NFIB, as explained at the bottom of this page. Action Fraud actually take these reports seriously and do make arrests, but they need us all to report to build a strong case. Don’t just leave it to someone else to do it!

Some bloke called saying my credit info had been given to them through some free programme from the Scottish government for folks like me, to wipe out about 60-70% of my debt. I was like “folks like me??” I told him I’m alright, thanks, and that I actually work for the Scottish government, then asked why he was ringing me out of the blue about it. I just got a call from some bloke pretending to be from the IVA scheme. He kept asking about my loans and credit cards (I just fed him loads of rubbish). Then he asked for personal stuff like my birth date, so I gave him a fake one. He did mention an old address of mine though! He tried to sell me a debt reduction plan - £150 a month for 5 years or something. Sounds dodgy to me, definitely a scam. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust anyone like that!

Someone rang me claiming to be from the government offering to sort out a debt I supposedly owe, which is rubbish as I don’t owe anything. When I asked where they got my info, they said the FCA.
