They kept ringing me nonstop, like three calls from around 9:20 in the morning until midnight. I'm just a pensioner, not running any sort of business. This is really annoying!

Got a call from ‪+44 161 521 0743‬ - some robotic voice pretending to be from HMRC, warning me that if I don’t ring them back I’m in big trouble. This isn’t the first time they’ve bothered me either. Last time, they said it was something to do with my NI number. Think I’ll just block the number straight away.

Like others here, I got a robo call from someone saying they were HMRC and warning me about a warrant for arrest over tax fraud, telling me to ring them straight away. For anyone saying it was about teaching firms how to reclaim R&D expenses and that the call was genuine, I really doubt that’s the case.

Got a call from this guy Mohammed, asking for my business partner. I asked what it was about and he claimed he was calling from HMRC about a tax rebate. Yeah, right. I don’t trust it one bit. If I had a tax rebate, I’d sort it out straight with the tax office, not over the phone with some random bloke.

Got a call the other day but they just dropped the line as soon as I picked up. I dialled 1471 to check the number and rang back. The woman on the other end said she could help with tax refunds from HMRC related to R&D expenses. When she asked for my business name, I didn’t want to give it. Told her I’d seen online that this sort of thing could be a scam. She said the firm was called Shenco or something like that and insisted it wasn’t dodgy. I ended the call there.

Got a call from 01617432911 about something to do with R&D. The person on the other end claimed to be from HMRC. I mentioned that the director wasn’t around to chat, and they hung up pretty fast. Later, when I tried ringing that number back, someone told me it was actually a different company, just trying to sell stuff about tax rates. Definitely not HMRC.

These r&d tax pros are totally regulated and licensed, so no worries there. They don't ask for any personal info or details, just help uk limited firms get a grip on the process. Honestly, i'd say give them a chance and listen to what they have to say. Some of the other comments here feel a bit out of place considering what these guys actually do. I'd suggest having a quick search about the company before deciding.

Got a call from someone claiming to be a special agent saying I hadn’t paid enough tax and there was gonna be a warrant out for my arrest. They told me to hit 1 to talk to an officer to sort it out and pay what I owe right then and there. Didn’t fall for it and when I said no, they just ended the call.

I received a rather comical call from someone posing as an HMRC officer, claiming they urgently needed to chat with our director. The audacity! They even had the nerve to threaten me with legal action (can you believe it?) if I didn’t hand over the info straight away. What a joke!
