They probably snag your digits off Gumtree, especially if you’re a painter or something like that. Then they try and scam you, all because you showed up on Google somewhere. Proper dodgy behaviour.

I put up an ad on Gumtree and almost straight away got a call from some company saying they were from Google. They told me I could get my ad on Google’s front page if I paid them. It all felt a bit iffy and like a scam to me.
