Got a call from this number and the bloke on the other end told me I’d been in an accident and there was a great compensation offer. I told him I hadn’t had any accident, then he switched to trying to sell me some private pension plan. I said I’m too young for that sort of thing, so next thing he’s trying to flog me a second-hand car. He wouldn’t take no for an answer, so in the end I somehow ended up buying him a washing machine. If they don't follow up with a message or email, it’s clear they either can't contact me that way (like those call centre autodialers) or they’re strangers. However, given the raucous background noise-sounded a bit like a pub-and the odd timing, I immediately suspected it was a scam. Then, in the second call, they brought up my pension, claiming it hasn’t been reviewed in over six months. Here's the kicker: I don't even have a pension! The number they called me on has no ties to my name or any pension information. And as if that wasn't enough, the third call was about a PPI claim that someone apparently thought I had filed-clearly another case of mistaken identity!
