I got a call from some young woman from abroad who wanted me to verify my first name, saying I had a tax refund waiting. I told her it was clearly a scam and that I don’t even pay taxes, then ended the call. Actually, I do pay taxes, but I’m sharp enough to realise the tax department wouldn’t just ring me out of the blue - they’d send a letter first.

Just got called back by this number again after reporting them yesterday. This time, they tried a new trick, claiming they sorted out my PPI claim ages ago. I told the guy straight away I’ve never even made a PPI claim and told him, “this is a scam” before ending the call. Honestly, these scammers are awful and need to be stopped properly.
