Never pick up calls from unknown or withheld numbers. I always look them up online first and then block the ones that turn out to be scams. It’s really the safest approach, especially around this time of year.

Somebody phoned saying my partner’s laptop was at risk, they even mentioned her name! They asked her to follow some steps on the computer, but I told her just to ignore and end the call. We then went ahead and blocked the number straight away.
