My caller ID just showed "International" followed by the phone number. I've seen comments from others saying they got calls from people who sounded Asian, and some folks tried calling back only to find out the number was out of service. With today’s tech, can a call actually from abroad show up as if its from Manchester? Seems dodgy to me!

Had no clue where he claimed to be calling from, spoke so quickly it was hard to make out. To get rid of these annoying calls, I usually say I’m an officer with Sussex Police and mention that my line’s just been taken over by them. 9 times out of 10 I get a flustered Asian person saying sorry over and over before hanging up. They rarely call back more than once, which I like to confirm. Whenever there’s a pause on the other end, I jump in with that story - it really does the trick!

this number wont leave me alone, been ringing my house phone loads so i blocked it now. when i try calling back it says theres no service. a guy with a thick Asian accent talks but says he’s not selling anythin. they keep ringing non stop, its proper annoying and i reckon it should be stopped, feels bad for anyone who might fall for these scammers.

I’m a pensioner living alone and keep getting calls from this number that supposedly is from Manchester. The bloke on the phone had a strong Indian accent though. I told him loads of times to take me off their list as I wasn’t interested in any of their sales pitches or whatever it was, but he just kept going like he hadn’t heard me. It wasn’t until I said I’d get the police involved that he finally hung up - only to ring straight back again a few seconds later! Proper annoying.

Answered the call but it was just silence for a few moments then they hung up before anyone said anything. Looks like one of those auto dialers to me, cos normally if someone was actually there they'd speak once I said hello. Cheers to everyone who shared their thoughts, I’m definitely ignoring this number next time it rings.

I got a call from someone claiming to be the local police, using caller ID to make it look legit. I just played along and gave them a bit of grief, which seemed to throw them off hardcore. They either ended the call straight away or said sorry before hanging up. Took him quite a bit of time to build up the courage to ring me again after that!

Got a call around 8.35 at night and it woke up my little girl. I told the guy, who sounded Indian, to take me off the list since it was so late and he just disturbed my daughter. But he kept pushing his sales spiel so much I ended up losing my cool. Seriously, I want to know who these people are - it’s so disrespectful and honestly not on at all.

Got a call pretty late in the evening. When I told the bloke to take me off their list, he surprisingly knew my name. He started chatting away, and that woke my daughter up. It wasn’t too late, like around 8:25, but the guy from India didn’t seem to care that he disturbed her. I asked nicely a few times to be removed but he just ignored me. Left feeling really annoyed and I really hope they don’t ring me again.

0161 719 3033 have been ringing non stop all day then popped us with a call at 9 in the evening! My other half told them to do one and put the phone down hard. No sooner had he done that, they were straight back on the line again! He just shouted 'LEAVE US ALONE' and ended the call again... luckily they haven’t phoned since but I’m sure they will start pestering us again tomorrow. I’m normally getting roughly 6 calls a day from this number and another one ringing about 15 times daily too. Makes me think they might be from the same outfit!

Someone keeps calling asking for a person who doesn’t live here. I’ve told them a few times I’m not who they’re after, then when I ask who they are, they just hang up. They called again the next day, and I reminded them it’s the wrong number, but the same thing happened - they hung up when I asked their identity. Today they’ve rung twice more asking for that same person, and when my mum and daughter handed me the phone and I answered, they just ended the call. Honestly, it’s getting really frustrating dealing with this idiot who won’t stop bothering us.

Got a call from this number so I blocked it straight away. Later I decided to ring it back and all I got was a message saying THE NUMBER IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE. Honestly, BT should really fix this mess. How on earth can a number with no service still manage to call me! Total spam...

I let the phone stop ringing first, then I dialled 1471 to check the number and it turned out to be this one. I didn’t call back though. The reason I’m looking it up now is because I keep getting about 10 to 15 annoying scam calls daily. Honestly, I don’t really get what the point is. If there’s no profit in it, why would anyone waste their time? I did ask the police about it, but I guess they’re not allowed to give much info...

Got a call from 01617193033 around 9pm which annoyed me. They asked for me by name but when I told them they had the wrong person, they tried to speak to someone else in the house. I told them to stop calling or I'd report them to the police, then they just hung up abruptly. Definitely looks like a scam call.
