On the 23rd of June, 2020, I had the misfortune of receiving a call from a chap named Mark, who claimed to be associated with some Credit Investigations, allegedly linked to a government agency. Complete waste of time, if you ask me.

Got a missed call and when I checked the voicemail, there was this really scary automated message. It said it was from HMRC and warned about some sort of legal trouble if I didn't get back to them. Proper worrying stuff.

This number rang me up earlier, saying I need a lawyer because I've apparently done something dodgy with my taxes. I called their bluff and told them I knew it was a scam since they didn’t even have my real name right. The person on the other end got quite nasty, shouting at me and threatening, "Fine, just wait for the police to show up!" I hung up straight away, but it’s really worrying because some people, especially those who are more vulnerable, might fall for this.

This woman called me claiming to be Jimmy Green from HMRC fraud department. She told me my name was involved in fraud, can you believe it? I’ve never known anyone from India or Bangladesh to have a name like Jimmy Green. Honestly, this number is a total scam and quite risky.

I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, but the accent sounded completely American and robotic. She called herself an "officer" and started threatening me with legal action. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

Some lady called herself Jimmy Green from HMRC fraud department and told me my name was involved in some fraud case. Can you believe that? I've never met anyone from India or Bangladesh with a name like that before. Definitely a scam, and it seems pretty dodgy to me.

Today I got another annoying call from a guy with an Indian accent who was pushing to sell me a laptop. When I said I wasn’t interested, he started being rude and abusive. These calls are getting so frustrating!

Got a call from someone saying they were from HMRC, telling me I’d been blacklisted and my case was heading to court at 6pm the same day. They claimed my bank accounts would be frozen and insisted I get a solicitor straight away. Apparently, I owed £3995, and if it went to court, I’d be facing another £25k in fees or even five years jail time. Sounded really serious and they told me not to bother calling my accountant as it wasn’t their problem. Still, I rang up my accountant and checked with HMRC myself - turns out no black flag or unpaid debts at all.

I keep getting calls around lunchtime every single day. Nobody ever says anything and then they just hang up. It’s really irritating and such a hassle. Someone needs to put a stop to this.

01615314766 - Got a robo call pretending to be from HMRC Revenue and Customs, saying I was in trouble with the law, which was all obviously a scam. It's beyond me why these phone companies or whoever handles the numbers don't track down these scammers. The companies letting these fraudsters use such numbers really ought to be held accountable and forced to shut them down.

I didn’t pick up the phone but got a voicemail claiming to be from the Inland Revenue. They said I had to call back or else their solicitors would get in touch soon! It sounded pretty intimidating but honestly, I doubt it’s legit. My advice? Don’t bother calling back or sharing any personal details.

The person who picked up told me they were from some bureau investigating credit fraud. Since I don’t have any credit, I just pretended to be daft. I said I was hard of hearing and didn’t catch what they were saying, but I thought they mentioned something about a Covid-19 investigation. I kept asking them to speak up and slow down. After about three times of me doing this, they just hung up. Pretty clear it was a scam, just like others have said. I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number now.

I got a call from someone claiming to be with the credit fraud investigation bureau. Over the last few weeks, this same number has rung me about five times. When I asked to be removed from their call list, the guy told me to “fuck off” right back. It’s clear this is some kind of scam, so I’ve blocked the number and would recommend everyone else does the same.

Just got a call from this number too, and it’s definitely a scam. They started by getting my name wrong, then kept asking me to say which company I was with, like three times, before hanging up. I've reported it to the online fraud site already. If you get a call from this number, don’t pick up and make sure you report it straight away!
