Got a call from some company trying to pitch me boiler services, insulation, solar panels, and even a rock wall. They then asked if I was claiming benefits, which I chose not to say, and followed up with questions about my household income - again, I declined to answer. They seemed to get quite annoyed when I wasn’t forthcoming. Also, the lady on the phone wasn’t clear about the company’s name, which made me more suspicious.

Someone from Simply Connect called saying they could offer me a better mobile contract, but then went on listing plans that were honestly worse than mine. 01617110795 rang me up offering a new smartphone with a contract. I asked him three times how I’d actually pay, but he kept dodging the question. When I pointed it out again, he finally said something about direct debit. I repeated my question and then he said he'd send my info over to O2. I laughed it off, told him “no chance” and ended the call. Then I searched the number and found out it’s a scam.

Just got a call from this number. The woman on the line had an Indian accent and said she was from Simply Connected. I told her I’d never heard of that company and she claimed they worked with all the big UK mobile phone companies. Then she asked if I was on pay as you go or a contract. I said it’s nothing to do with her since she’s not my provider, said cheers and ended the call.

This defo ain’t Vodaphone billing. I’ve never even used Vodaphone but got a call that woke me up in hospital and caused loads of stress. I’m signed up to TPS, so this is just some TPS & GPRS scam. Proper blocked it.
