So I got a call from some people saying they're from a charity helping with debts, but it turns out they’re not from any charity at all. They’re actually working in call centres in Manchester, using names like AFA Insolvency, Debt Compare, or Clear Start Accountants. It's definitely a scam, nothing legitimate about it.

This number claims to be StepChange charity but it’s a total scam trying to get you to take out IVAs. If you get a call from them, hang up straight away. Definitely block the number and report it to Action Fraud. Always double check you’re dealing with the genuine StepChange charity, these lot are just fakes.
