This evening, on the 1st of June 2017, just around half past seven, I received a rather curious call. The chap on the other end had a distinctly foreign accent, claiming to be representing the Accident Helpline. I replied with a light-hearted "Is that so?" and he let out an audible sigh. It seemed he quickly caught on that I was in the mood for a bit of banter. Not long after, the call was abruptly cut off. What a shame!

Just got a call from some bloke with a weird accent claiming to be from the Accident Helpline. I played along all chipper like and said, “Oh yeah?” He let out a sigh like he knew I wasn’t buying it and then he hung up. Guess he didn’t fancy dealing with me messing about!

Got a call from some bloke claiming I'd been in a car crash - sounded proper rude and was trying to scare me a bit. He kept asking for details about the accident, so I shot back, “If you know so much, how about telling me my name?” and then he just slammed the phone down on me. Funny thing is, I also got an email that same day asking for info about the crash. I did see an accident happen a few months ago, so maybe some insurance lot are passing around the info they’ve got.

The person sounded quite slow and their English was not great, with a heavy accent.

Somebody rang claiming to be from an accident helpline and said they got my info from my insurance. I just ended the call straight away. I then phoned my insurance to check, and they said they never gave out my details. After that, I tried getting in touch with this accident helpline but they denied having called me at all.
