Somebody rang me claiming my computer had been compromised, mentioning something about my ‘Microsoft account.’ When I asked for more details, they said the problem couldn’t be fixed ‘from outside’ and needed a Microsoft certified expert, or someone who knew Apple if it was an Apple device. Naturally, they offered to connect me to that expert, but I wasn’t having any of it and ended the call. I could hear a noisy call centre in the background.
