I got a voicemail from them but they messed up my name completely. The whole message was just a load of nonsense. Definitely blocking that number. Claiming to be social services, but this number isn’t the real one for social services. The actual social services connected to the hospital have serious authority - they can force patients to stay even if they don’t want to. During the pandemic, they used this power a lot. Many folks ended up losing their homes and had to donate their furniture to charity as a result. Watch out for anything claiming to be Hospital Social Services from this phone number - it’s not legit.

This number rang me up on a Sunday around 10 in the morning. I wasn’t sure who it was but picked up anyway. Turns out, I’m glad I did because they told me about a hospital appointment I’d been waiting ages for, which was available in just a few days. The call was from someone claiming to be part of Manchester University NHS Trust, even though the appointment they mentioned was at North Manchester General. This 0161 number is definitely dodgy, pure scam. Ive had to block loads of numbers but they just keep switching the last few digits. Someone said it was the NHS and that they wouldnt leave a voicemail but thats not true, the real NHS does leave messages asking you to call back. Ive been getting calls from Manchester with 0161 codes nearly everyday. Just block those numbers and when they try calling from a slightly different 0161 number, block that too. They’re relentless!

Any calls from 0161 numbers claiming to be from Manchester are just scams. I don’t live anywhere near Manchester and these are definitely con artists. If you don’t wanna get tricked, just block the number. I’ve already blocked about 10 different 0161 numbers and others as well. Stay safe!
