Got a call from this number, an Indian lady trying to get me to upgrade my Virgin broadband. Problem is, I don’t even have Virgin, and I’m not the one paying for the internet anyway. Sounds like a busy call centre line - it’s a kind of switchboard number that different people in Manchester use. They probably just jump onto another number afterwards to keep going. I reckon loads of scammers might be using it, so best to just block it. They wanted me to give out my card details and address, but no way I did that. Typical scammy stuff from these calls, really annoying.

Contact Number: +44 161 514 9134 On 27th January 2023, I received a call on my mobile from this number. The caller falsely claimed to have the authority to obtain my contact details and identified themselves as being from Carphone Warehouse. I took immediate action by reporting the incident to trading standards authorities and subsequently blocked the number on my phone. Additionally, I forwarded the number to 7726, the official spam reporting service.

So this is a WhatsApp verification call. If you tried moving your WhatsApp to a different phone, it rings to confirm it’s really you. But if you didn’t ask for any code, it might be someone trying to get into your account. This service is there to double check it’s legit.
