Even if you think you’ve hung up, be careful - they can sometimes leave the line open to listen to who you call after. Honestly, it’s best to just ignore the call and block the number immediately.

Got a call from 01616763657 saying it was the INSIDE REVENUE about marriage tax allowance or something. They mentioned stuff about being genuine and even said we're on bbc news regularly or something like that. Asked if I was married, if our combined income was under £50,000 and if one of us earns less than £12,500. Honestly, the woman on the phone sounded really rude and unfriendly. Not a great experience at all.
