Got a call from a guy who said his name was Danny, with a really strong South African accent. He claimed to be ringing from the housing association. Thing is, the number showed up as Manchester and I’m down in the South Wales valleys, so that felt odd straight away. He asked if there was any damage to my house I wanted to tell them about. Once I told him I actually own the place, he just ended the call. A mate of mine works for the local housing association, so I’ve passed the info on to them to keep an eye out and warn people nearby.

Once that letter arrives with a reference number, I’ll decide how to proceed from there. As for now, I have nothing else to add. They hung up pretty quickly, and I’m quite sceptical about whether I’ll actually get that letter.
