I called but got no response for quite a while, and then suddenly, I heard someone say goodbye.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, chatting about my internet. Could tell it was a call centre right away, 'cause of loads of noise in the background. I wasn't having any of her scheme to get my details, so asked where she was calling from. She said somewhere in London, but I pointed out she was using a phone number with a Manchester code. Then, quick as a flash, the line just cut out.

Yeah, definitely a scam call, the bloke had a strong Indian accent and was way too detailed with his story. Felt really fishy to me.
