Got a call today from someone claiming to be with a phone company, saying they were sorting out my order and that I was entered into a prize draw. They then asked for my bank info and stupidly I gave it to them.

They kept ringing me all day, so I finally picked up. They wanted me by name and I asked how they got my number. They mumbled something about a prize site, saying they needed to verify info. Then they started asking if I owned the house, my age, and if we make over £30k. I told them flat out where to stick it and blocked the number. Best to just avoid these calls completely.

Got a call from this number just now, saying they were from coc world and that I’d done an online survey. They asked for me by my last name. I told them I hadn’t done any survey, and she said sorry and said she’d remove my name from their records, but couldn’t promise I wouldn’t get more calls. I checked for coc world and didn’t find any firm in Manchester. I’ve blocked the number now.

Grab a BT cordless ansafone for about £19.99, then set it to Do Not Disturb. The caller still gets to leave a voicemail, but your phone won’t ring. After that, just dial 1471 to find out who rang you. What a clever little trick!

It was one of those timeshare firms, I ended up attending their event in Manchester and got a £50 voucher for TGI Fridays just for sitting through a 4 hour sales spiel. They were proper pushy. My tip? Bring a 7 year old with an iPad, then once they start the heavy selling, snatch the iPad off and let the kid go wild in their office. They’ll quickly hand over the voucher and make you leave.

This call came from a timeshare company called CLC World Resorts. Their website is [#]clcworld[###]. When you pick up, there isn’t an option to “press a number” to take your details off their list. Instead, you need to either call them back or email [email protected][###] asking to have your number deleted. I used their contact form on the site and told them to remove my number straight away and stop being so damn annoying. I really can’t stand cold calls!!!
