I’m really fed up with these calls now. Every time it goes to my answerphone there’s just silence, no one on the line. So, I’ve just decided to block the number.

I received an unexpected phone call today. The person on the line referred to me by a name that wasn't mine, and when I pointed that out, he oddly requested my actual name. At that point, I decided it was best to end the conversation and hung up.

When I picked up it took a bit before I realised it was a remote dial, the call only clicked after a short delay. They tried to talk to me using a different name, which is something that happens a lot with misheard words. As soon as I said that wasn’t me, they switched to the right name but once I asked who they were, they just hung up straight away.
