I've had quite a few phone calls from this number informing me that I'm eligible for a payment of £4,533. The person on the line verified my name and address, then proceeded to ask for my National Insurance number. When I suggested that they send me the information in writing, the caller erupted into an insult-laden tirade, hurling expletives at me. Quite unprofessional, to say the least!

I've been getting loads of calls from this number claiming that a sum of £4,533.00 is waiting for me to claim. The caller insists on confirming my name and address first, which is a bit suspicious. Then, they abruptly demand my National Insurance number before any payment can supposedly be processed. When I pushed back, asking why they couldn't just send me the details through the post, the tone of the conversation took a rather unpleasant turn, and he began hurling abuse at me. Quite alarming, really!

Got yet another scam call - seriously, when will these idiots just quit?

They claimed I'd be getting more than £4000 in my bank within a week or two from the government, gave me some reference number and asked if I was still at an old address I haven’t lived at for over a year. I ended the call straight away. They rang back but I didn’t pick up.

Got another unwanted ring from these overseas scammers who still can’t say my name right, even after bothering me loads of times. I just stayed quiet and let some poor guy, probably from Mumbai, butcher my name while trying to get me to chat. After about 21 seconds of me staying silent, he gave up and hung up to bug someone else.

Got a ring from this number earlier today, around 2:30pm on 19/02/22. The bloke had a weird accent and claimed to be from some UK government office, not sure which one. I was already a bit iffy about it. Asked to turn the volume up cause I’m a bit hard of hearing. He just kept talking over me and called me a "soft" something. I accidentally hung up when trying to find the volume control. Probably a blessing in disguise!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were from a PPI reclaim team. The person on the other end was really rude and even said some inappropriate sexual stuff. If you get a call from this number, just ignore and block it. Honestly, I’m stunned these kinds of calls are still happening - it was really upsetting.

It's definitely a scam, so dont answer or speak with them. Just end the call straight away. You can also block the number on your phone to stop it happening again.

Someone rang me saying there’s a cheque ready for me. I asked where they got my info from, and this bloke with an Indian accent said from the FCA Financial Conduct Authority. I told him to check GDPR because I’ve never dealt with the FCA. I told them to stop calling me. It’s a total SCAM. Watch out folks.

Got a call about a PPI cheque supposedly ready to be sent, just needed some details. They were trying to use an address we left over 8 years ago and my partner’s old surname! When I asked for his name, he said Steve Rodgers?! Then he just cut the call. We spent like 15 minutes trying to prove he was legit, him going on about needing bank info to send the cheque. He even mentioned something about it being all over the news back in 2017? Clearly, someone hasn’t refreshed their lines in ages.

A lady with an Asian accent keeps claiming I put in a claim for PPI, and other times she says I was in a car crash. I can't understand it, I’ve never even owned a car or taken out loans. I’ve told her off a few times, but she just keeps ringing me from loads of different numbers.

Got a call on 25/1/19 from someone with a US accent asking about the old user of my work mobile - they’d left like 7 years before. She said she was ringing from Manchester, which my finance dept already clocked (0161 number). Since my bosses are based there, I first thought it could’ve been from one of their numbers! But she cut the call pretty quickly.

Got a call at 1.08pm yesterday. Sounded pretty much like the other two reports i've seen here. I asked where they got my info from and they said some agency passed it on. Then someone else mentioned my postcode but it was an old one, so i told them it was wrong. Then they wanted the correct one. When i kept asking questions, the bloke said “help me out here” which was kinda strange! I just hung up after that.
