Given the situation, I’ve decided against answering any calls for the moment. One particular message I received on the home phone at around half past six did mention something regarding finances, which raised a few red flags. So, I simply replied that we were unavailable.

Be wary of these finance firms! When you submit your personal information for a loan, especially through those dodgy, small-time lenders (often complete charlatans), your details are frequently sold off to these third-party entities that dangle the prospect of loans you’re extremely unlikely to receive. A word of caution: steer clear of these organisations! For instance, just recently, I encountered a mobile bill amounting to £150 simply for returning a call to one such number, only to discover it was a premium rate line which will inevitably hit your wallet. No matter how much you plead your case with your mobile service provider, they’re unlikely to budge an inch. These individuals have been incessantly calling us, both during the day and late at night, only to hang up most of the time. Back in February 2010, we explicitly expressed our desire to be removed from their database, as we had never sought their assistance. Our inquiry regarding a loan in August 2009-through a broker, no less-turned out to be a monumental error, as it seems that’s how these dreadful companies acquired our information! I’ve sent them an email, albeit rather politely worded, but I sincerely wish they would cease all communication with us.

I recently received a call from this number, but I chose not to answer it. No messages were left afterwards. Interestingly, I also got a call from 01614858131 on my brand new phone, which I haven't shared with anyone yet. The second number seemed to belong to a solicitor's office in England or something along those lines, although I have no business with any solicitors whatsoever.
