This number rang me out of the blue, saying they'd somehow got hold of the old customer list from Virgo Home Improvements, a company that folded back in 2018, and that they were trying to reach former clients.
I checked in with the Liquidators who assured me they hadn't shared any client info with anyone else.
The strange part is, this company didn’t even give their own name, so I'm left wondering how they came by my details as an old Virgo Home Improvements customer.
Worth mentioning, Laura Anderson Ltd, the firm behind Virgo Home Improvements, got slapped with an £80k fine by the ICO in 2017 because they kept ringing people on the Telephone Preference Service.

Got a call today from this number saying they’re from a business that took over the client list of the firm that installed my gutters and soffits nearly ten years back. The original company shut down a while ago, and apparently this new outfit took over their contacts. Still not 100% sure if it’s genuine though, as I can’t remember the company’s name to check them out properly. A bit suspicious if you ask me.

Because I have call guardian, I just declined the call when the guy said “Hello, Mark here.”

The caller seemed to know my name, but when I asked who it was, they just ended the call. My phone rang straight away again, but the moment I picked up, they disconnected once more.
