After a bit of digging, I reached out to the Liquidators, and they assured me that no such database had been transferred to any third party. It leaves me pondering how this obscure company managed to obtain my information as a previous client of Virgo. It’s worth noting that Laura Anderson Ltd, operating as Virgo Home Improvements, faced a hefty £80,000 penalty from the ICO in 2017 due to their questionable direct marketing practices targeting individuals on the Telephone Preference Service. Quite troubling, really!

I received a call earlier today from a number that professed to represent a firm supposedly managing the contact details of a company that fitted my soffits and gutters a decade back. Apparently, the original business shut its doors a few years ago, and now the installer has supposedly taken the reins of their client list. I can’t help but feel a bit dubious about the authenticity of this call, as I haven’t managed to verify the new company’s details-my memory fails me regarding their name!

The caller seemed to know my name, but when I asked who it was, they just ended the call. My phone rang straight away again, but the moment I picked up, they disconnected once more.
