10 yearsGot a call just now from some bloke calling himself Ben Johnson. Sounded like he was in a rush, mentioning some other reports he'd been checking out. He asked for someone who’s no longer here, then quickly backtracked saying sorry, that he meant someone else. He said it was to do with our Google listing, but then told me the person he wanted never takes calls like this. When I got back to him after they refused to talk, he threatened to remove our listing from Google and then just hung up on me. If he was genuine Google, I reckon he’d have pushed more, but nah, he just dropped it. I’m actually kinda relieved he didn’t keep trying to sell us anything and ended it like that.Ben JohnsonGoogle10 yearsThey called me again today (Tuesday), just like they did on Monday and Friday. I told them we haven’t had anything like this before and asked them to stop ringing us. But they keep on calling anyway.10 yearsGot a call from someone saying they were from ‘The Website Company’. They insisted they’d been handling my Google Maps stuff and that my ‘trial’ was up so I had to pay for a whole year’s service. Then, they tried to tempt me with a 10% off if I paid quickly with my card! They told me they’d already sent me an invoice, but somehow they didn’t have my email or postal address - which was odd, seeing as they said they’d put my business info on Google Maps. Bit fishy if you ask me.The Website CompanyGoogle MapsMaps11 yearsGot a call from a bloke named Ben Johnson claiming to be from something called RHI. When I asked what that stood for, he said it’s the Renewable Heat Incentive. I nicely told him I wasn’t interested in the sales pitch and he just hung up on me. Rude much!Ben JohnsonRHIRenewable Heat11 yearsI picked up the phone and the person just hung up straight away, so I rang them back. The bloke on the other end seemed totally caught off guard and struggled to speak properly. After a bit, he asked for the ‘facilities’ manager at our company. When I told him we’re just a small outfit, he lost interest really fast. Definitely avoid picking up if this number rings you!11 yearsOn 16/02/17 around 2pm, I got a call at work from someone asking for our facilities manager - that’s me. He said he was conducting a survey for the government. When I asked which government, he claimed it was the UK government. I made it clear I don’t appreciate unsolicited calls and asked for his name. He said Ben. Then I asked which company he’s with, and he refused to say. So he thinks it’s fine to call but won’t give any proper ID? I warned him that if he calls again, I’d report him. I used "1471" to check the number and found it was 0161 637 3470. What a waste of my time. Now I’ve got a running list of these cold callers, ready to report any more that crop up.UKBen11 yearsGot a call the other day from someone trying to pitch adverts.Submit Your Own Report (0161 637 3470)
