Received a call just now from a chap named Mr Ben Johnson. He seemed quite preoccupied, rifling through his other reports, it appeared. Initially, he was looking for someone who's no longer with us, then quickly corrected himself. He mentioned it was regarding our Google listing and indicated that this individual wouldn’t entertain the call. When I followed up, having informed him that the person wasn't interested, he curtly warned that our Google listing might be removed and abruptly hung up. If he were genuinely representing Google, one would expect him to make a better effort, rather than just throwing in the towel. Still, I must admit, I'm somewhat relieved he didn't linger longer trying to peddle something or other.

I’ve had yet another call today, just like the ones I got last Friday and Monday. I mentioned to them that we've never had any dealings and requested they cease contacting us. Yet here we are again, another call on a Tuesday!

They referred to themselves as 'The Website Company', asserting that they had provided Google Maps services for my business. According to them, my complimentary period has run its course, and now I’m supposedly liable for an entire year’s worth of service fees. How thoughtful of them to extend a 10% discount if I settled the payment quickly via credit card! They mentioned having sent me an invoice but curiously lacked my postal or email details; quite odd considering they apparently had all my company information listed on Google Maps.

I received a call from a chap named Ben Johnson representing RHI. When I enquired about what RHI stood for, he informed me it was the Renewable Heat Incentive. I responded, rather courteously, that we had no interest in continuing the conversation, and without a moment's hesitation, he hung up. Isn’t that delightful?

I picked up the call, only for them to drop it right away. So, I decided to ring back. The fella on the other end seemed rather taken aback and struggled to find his words. After a bit, he inquired about the 'facilities' manager of our establishment. When I mentioned that we’re a tiny operation, he quickly lost interest. A word of caution, steer clear of this number!

On the 17th of February, 2016, at roughly 2:05 in the afternoon, a chap rang our office inquiring after the facilities manager (that's me). He claimed to be conducting a survey on behalf of the government. Naturally, I quizzed him on which government he represented, and he promptly replied it was the UK government. I expressed my displeasure about cold calls and asked him to provide his name. He introduced himself as Ben. When I pressed him for his company name, he decided to dodge the question, stating, "I'm afraid I can't disclose that." So, it’s perfectly fine for him to interrupt my day, yet he can't share his corporate identity? I made it clear that should he attempt to contact us again, I'd lodge a complaint. I dialled "1471" and noted the number: 0161 637 3470. What a fool. Save your breath, mate... I've now compiled a roster of these nuisance callers, and I assure you, if they ring me once more, I shall report them without hesitation.
