I received an unexpected telephone call from a woman with a foreign accent, asserting that she was representing BT Openreach and insisting that our internet speeds were shockingly poor. I can’t help but think this is yet another scam!

Some lady said she was from BT Openreach, saying our internet was running at half the speed it should be. Then she started asking when we last paid our internet bill and the amount. Surely that’s not their business, right? My partner quickly told her they were just scam artists and told her to get lost. Then they hung up straight away. Oh, and although she gave an English name, her accent was definitely Asian.
